That song is really good and the video gets a good message across IMO.

Re: Please remeber to give 'a pittance of time'
I spent many years in teh Boys Brigade Band walking that march.
I remember over all being about 11, wet through in just a shirt I'd played the solo at the cenetaph, and had to walk home all alone. My Mum went mad.
I always buy/wear a poppy, this year I managed to get one of those car ones for teh first time. I even got Siobhan one this year. My Dad fought in WW2 in fleet air arms. was on 3 ships, 2 of which were sunk after he was transferred. He spent most of his time out in India/Ceylon (as it was, now Sri Lanka).
He spent his 21st birthday crossing the atlantic and was thrown overboard for his trouble!

I thought that was an excellent song. The video really does get the message across.

I agree with the sentiments of the song, and I will be honouring the fallen tomorrow.

Although my father survived the war, he was shelled at Dunkirk and it affected the rest of his life.
I never fail to buy poppies.

Re: Please remeber to give 'a pittance of time'
We'll be having our annual silence at church tomorrow. So little to ask for those who gave so much.

Re: Please remeber to give 'a pittance of time'
I've always bought poppies i always lose them as well. Bought 2 this year and ive got one left and its sitting here on the fireplace. Have just watched the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall. Have always watched it mum used to say its to say thank you for the people who have fought in the wars and elsewhere. Will get up tomorrow morning to watch the cenotaph parade on tv. Used to go to the parades when i was a scout leader down in Church and brownie guide leader in Haslingden. My uncle was killed in Burma and my dad was given his medals and now my brother has them.

Re: Please remeber to give 'a pittance of time'
I always buy a poppy, this years no exception, but I wish there was another way to pin it on you other than with a.. pin. Maybe its just me but I feel its always going to fall off and am continuously checking it!

Re: Please remeber to give 'a pittance of time'
I managed to get a poppy this year which will be worn with pride tomorrow.
We always look after a six year-old on Saturday mornings and she asked what the poppy was for. Unfortunately, 'im indoors explained in too great a length and she wandered off half way through. Hopefully, a little of it will have registered.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them

Re: Please remeber to give 'a pittance of time'
Tomorrow is very special, and it will be time to remember those that served, and are serving still.
My grandfather was killed in Normandy in 1944 aged twenty two. He left behind his widow, my granny, who was pregnant with my mum.
My mum and her dad never got to see each other, but I know they would/are proud of each other.
