Perhaps not saved you a tenner, but stopped you from throwing it away....and stopped some beer from going sour.

Re: Poll - The next leader of the Labour party
I think David Milliband is the outstanding candidate. I spoke with Cruddas again and we are meeting up soon. He has always said the Leadership is not for him. I want Ben Bradshaw to give it a go.

Re: Poll - The next leader of the Labour party
I voted Ed Balls, not because I like him, (though he seems the most human of the bunch),
but because he has already been briefed at a Bildeburg meet, and the others have not yet had that priviledge (though I am not yet aware of all the attendees of the recent supposedly secret confab with Rockerfeller and Rothschild in Dublin).
They like to indoctrinate the ones who are destined for 'great things'.
Interesting to note that Mandy has attended regularly for the past 5 years
and our new chancellor was in Dublin to be given his instructions.

Re: Poll - The next leader of the Labour party
David Milliband, I would have gone for John Cruddas and if he did win it then at least Labour would be on the left.. but the left have no chance in General Elections..so Milliband.

Re: Poll - The next leader of the Labour party
The Cat has probably got the best chances, as when the knives come out & they start carving each other up for the leadership, Cats got the best chance having 9 lives & all !! But it'll have to be a female cat or old Harriet "The Harridan" Harman will be off on one !!
Have noticed your list ain't particularly PC, All the above are white males ! except the Cat.

Re: Poll - The next leader of the Labour party
seems to me Andy Burnham deserves some consideration , anyone who says this about Labour seems to have the finger on the public pulse
..."I heard the same echo everywhere I went. People trying to get on in life and do the right thing felt Labour was no longer at their side.
"Our priorities were not their priorities: that we were doing more for those who didn't want to work than those in work but struggling, particularly with no children; that we were in denial about the effects of immigration - on wages, housing and anti-social behaviour - in places where life is hardest; and that pensioners who had done the right thing and saved found they were above the line for help.
We should bring down the final curtain on the era of stage-management in politics, making our party conference a forum for real debate and drama once again.
Andy Burnham
plus the "lad" is a northerner who knows the difference between Rugby league and Rugby union , another point in his favour he is a native Brit who doesn't qualify for an automatic second (foreign) passport due to his religion .

Re: Poll - The next leader of the Labour party
....but it looks like he will be up against Diane Abbot, amongst the others. Miss Abbot, is of course the leftie firebrand MP for Hackney who sent her kid to public school (summat does not add up there).

Re: Poll - The next leader of the Labour party
Now that he's thrown his hat in the ring, Andy Burnham would be my choice! I think Ed Balls is a bit of a loose canon!
