did you not notice the flashing blue light and the siren going off as you were going up/down the road! also it says you should not swerve out of the way to let an emergency service past you should pull over at a safe and convinet place to do so! i suggest you read the high way code again

She wasnt driving, it was her sister, so why should she have to read the highway code??? And there are cases where you have no choice but to swerve from an emergency vehicle, you dont always get the opportunity to see one in plenty of time to "find a safe and convenient pleace to pull over" ive had to swerve to avoid a police car before now travelling at silly speeds towards me, you dont always see them in plenty time, think the issue of this thread was more the potholes in the road, that are sometimes un-avoidable for whatever reason and can and do cause damage to some peoples cars
