Puppy sickness news.
I'm really looking forward to getting back to presenting positive threads. I just felt the need to share with you guys cause you bring alot of comfort to us.
With the well known tragedies here, the new pup has been a nice distraction. The last few days she's been a bit lathargic and has been drinking alot of water. So, to be safe got her to the vet early this morning. Come to find out (for ~$300) that she has a dangerously high fever (104 degrees). Problem is all test for everything were negative.
Hence she officially has "an unknown serious viral infection. The next few days will be touch and go." We've got her on some various meds. but without knowing the cause, if the fact she has no other sick symptoms, she's on her own. "We've just got to hope for the best." The says "she just may pull through." Not very comforting thoughts eh?
Thanks for again allowing me to feed off my Accyweb family's emotuional strength! All you guys who've had sick animals understand our turmoil over this. Kinda odd after all the horrendous "stuff" we all go through that a "little" thing like this can become so discouraging.
IMO, God is still Great but I'm looking forward to giving Adam a punch in the nose for letting his woman eat that fruit!
Cheers and Smiles!
Brother/Cuz/Friend Brian and family

Re: Puppy sickness news.
AWWW good luck with the pup!! Poor little thing I hope everything goes well. I remember when my cat was poorly, he had a very high temp and a sore foot.....still don't know what happened. But after a few days on anti-biotics he was fit as a fiddle.
Good luck and keep us posted. xxx

Re: Puppy sickness news.
The poor little sweetheart. If its any comfort we had a pup a couple of years ago that had the same symptoms and a couple of days on a drip giving him just fluids did the trick. I hope everything turns out ok.

Re: Puppy sickness news.
Awww, poor little thing, I hope that recovery is imminent. Vets are like doctors, when they don't know what's wrong, they always say viral infection. Hope the pup is fighting fit again soon.

Re: Puppy sickness news.
I too hope the pup makes it, could it have picked any poison up anywhere, mine once had similar symptoms and until a few more dogs nearby developed similar thing the vet was puzzled, but because of amount being treated they suspected poisoning, they all pulled through by the way............

Re: Puppy sickness news.
Thanks for the thoughts and encouragement. She still had a high fever ealier today.
However, as the day progressed, she seemed to be able to play alot without conking out. She continued to eat and drink well and received her meds. grungally. She even came out into the woods to fend off a pack of 5 - 6 dogs that had treed one of our cats. She went to barking at 'em as our other dog (with the help of 3 shots from the .22 rifle) chased them off.
Just took her temp and it has come down alot. So, looks like she may be out of the woods.
So glad that my pals Rindy and Bullseye were able to have that little play fight to distract you guys. Well done chums, like especially how ya ended it all kissy and huggy!
Brian
