Not really John. More of a realist than a royalist.

Earlier in this thread I said "I recommend wearing a garland of garlic
....and a crucifix if he is religiously inclined
"

A few days ago I was listening to -
The Unbelievable Truth - Episode 9.4. Episode Four - British Comedy Guide

when it was revealed that Lizzy loathes garlic.
(so a true word was spoken in jest)

Just to confirm from the royal site

Re: Queen to visit Accrington in May.

If she comes in on Blackburn Rd she will think she is on a Foreign Tour, somewhere East of Suez

Re: Queen to visit Accrington in May.

I've just noticed that the visit is on a Wednesday.
This is traditionally 'half day closing'.

Do you really think that many people will visit the town just to see her?

Re: Queen to visit Accrington in May.

Took the following photo recently in Dacre village in the Lakes -it's a commemorative Coronation bench.

Just a thought, if she wasn't crowned officially until June 1953, is it really her Diamond jubilee this year or should it be held next year?

They probably asked Theresa May to work out the date.
