Re: rabbit pie
I haven't eaten rabbit or pidgeon and wouldn't do either, I know dont mock until you try, but I used to have pet rabbits when I was younger and really couldn't face it.

Re: rabbit pie
These 2 rabbits, Fluffy and Bunniekins used to use the same pub every day and when they came in they would order a pint and a Cheese Toastie each, one day the barman said "I only have 1 Cheese Toastie and 1 Ham Toastie", "thats ok" said Fluffy "I will have the Ham". Next day Bunniekins came in on hs own and the barman asked "wheres Fluffy?" "Oh he died last night"said Bunniekins, "Died" said the barman "he was only in here yesterday how did he die?"
"Well" said Bunniekins "he was mixing his toasties."
Ok I will now leave the stage.

Eaten rabbit hare pigeon and other wild foods and it does no harm if cooked right.

Re: rabbit pie
I love rabbit, but it's not for the poor anymore. I can sometimes get wild rabbit from my butcher in London, which does taste better than farmed rabbit, bung a few dumplings in, lovely. Jugged hare is great, too.

Re: rabbit pie
Never had rabbit pie! but me and a couple of mates would go out early sunday mornings..down the Clough and further with dogs a ferret and nets to catch rabbits ... used to roast them in the oven like any meat, good clean well earned food.. I have had the rabbit from butchers shops which is ok.. but of course not quite the same

Re: rabbit pie
Used to have rabbit ages ago. I reckon that if you eat beef and chicken, etc, there's no difference with rabbit.

With you on that Gayle but there are very few places that sell it. Going out and shooting your own is an option but could you skin and gut it?
