Re: Coronovirus
a dashboard site for PHE
https://www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashb...de905d2a9070ae
shows daily figures and a map view - thankfully atm none in Hyndburn but Blackburn has now 10 confirmed, None in Burnley so far ( course it all depends how they compile the figures. Since we only have a village hospital in Accrington, any cases would go to Blackburn)
also shows a of daily changes

Re: Coronovirus
Until testing is commenced on ALL the population, these figures are just guesswork based on those who have presented with symptoms which require hospitalisation.
Currently ONLY patients in hospital are tested.
But from tomorrow front line staff are going to be tested.
Not one second before time.

Re: Coronovirus
I have just spotted a post on M.S.N. which more than tickled me;It read that the German word for filling up one's cheeks with as much as possible is "Hamsterkauf",in Britain just swop the word cheeks for trolley's and it just about sums up some of our snowflake generation that that must have it all.
A very merry "HAMSTERKAUF" to them all, Regards the Lancashire Ludite

As Margaret P said Taddy, there were 2 threads on corona running, one in general chat the other in the sport section, the one from the sport section has now been transferred to GC.

And here's me thinking that the forum was where the the Christians had to be fed to the lions to satisfy the blood lust of the ancient Italians, "Ludite", would seem to be an apt title but I bear it with a grin and stay happy as always.

It would seem that the advice my older brother once told me, (he had a 22 year career in the R.E.M,E) was correct, Mick, he said, you get a far better education in the military than you would ever get in civvy street, (providing you stick at it that is). My son did not manage the 22 year stint in the 1st Royal Tank Regiment but he stayed in long enough to now have a career that takes him all over the world.
my wife and I twice spent a couple of weeks with him at the panzer house at Englepolze (might be spelt wrong), beneath the "Grunten" mountain in Bavaria.
Our oldest daughter is an uncivil servent and our youngest daughter is a teacher. Most of their upbringing is down to my wife of 53 years but maybe my Ludite ways have helped a bit.
Sorry to be rattling on a bit but I think the Hobgoblin is taking over, so I will now sign off.
Stay happy as always, Taddy, The Lancashire Ludite.

Not been on for a couple of days, but you'll get no "Flak" from me Taddy Engelpolz is out Kranzegg/Rettenberg way in the Allgaü, really nice area. A lot of units had "Ski huts" out that way as the name suggests, in winter the boys & girls did Ski-ing, then in the summer it was hill walking, rock climbing, canoeing basic "Adventure Trg".
I hope you visited some of the local "Wirtshauser" (Brewery owned/run Pubs/Hotels) while you were there? There were at least 3 or 4, the 2 that I remember best where Engel Braü & Zöttler. Happy Days!

Thanks for that Dave, in answer to to your question, yes we did visit the Engel Brau and Zotler breweries, we still have some glasses with the breweries names on them, We also managed to obtain passes from the Major in charge of "Haus Panzer" that enabled us to visit Orbersdorf and use the cable cars and ski lifts to reach the summit of the "Nablehorn", (I am not sure that is the correct spelling), Mountain.
Wonderful times, Regards Taddy.
