Two part recommendation here
Firstly, a local business, I needed some new tyres for the Turbobrick and searching the forums I found a make/model of tyre that got good reports from other drivers. Ringing round the usual places (Kwick Fit, National etc) got a price of just under £60 a tyre. On the net I could buy them for £36.60 delivered. Went to get the car washed at the hand wash place in Bash(the ex Petrol station on the left just before Hollands) and he does tyres. I ask him how much he could do them for. £47 a piece fitted. Got them fitted by him on Saturday. Got to say, a very decent bloke who took care of my alloys when fitting, torqued all nuts up properly and did a very good job. Threw in a free wash and wax as well. I also needed a new bulb and wipers and his prices for these were very good.
Top job at a very good price, he deserves to do well.
Secondly the tyres themselves
NanKang NS2's 205/50 16s V rated (150mph) for under £50 fitted. Very quiet, much better than the Michelin and Uniroyals I took off. Grip in wet and dry is excellent, good feedback through the wheel. As long as they last for >25K miles I will be well happy(reports on turbobricks say 30K+ is acheiveable if you rotate them properly)
So if you need some new tyres, give the lads up there a call(Baxenden Tyre Services 01254 234700). Not only may you save money but you are keeping your cash in the local economy(Should keep Gayle quiet as well
).
