I left it out a week and then i rang back the woman on the phone said oh i am sorry they have been sent to the wrong address they went to Cooper street and that sounds nothing like the place where i live in fact mines a road not a street! she said leave it out and they will come for it. LOL

Its still there now and they collect again on Tuesday!!

Re: Recycling/charity.

Well im sticking to original rules of recycling my tinnys are staying in the box - not the blue bag, reason i fill my bag with plastic bottles right up & the box doesn't get full, so i put my cardboard, tins & glasses in the box least then its filled & not comprimising my blue bag!!!

See thats sence

I said about that months ago on here, Some councils already have the equipment and use it in competitions between estates to get them to recycle more. The winner gets more estate play equipment or more funding for the youth club to help keep kids off the streets, or community centre. they do of dourse eventually intend to charge by weight for no recycled waste. I'm sure it will come to accy sooner than you'd all like, but thats life. The tips are full and there's no where to put it. councils are now being charged a riduculas sum per tun to get rid of your rubbish.

As for the textiles, those that can't be used as clothes get recycled as rags for garages, shoes I'm not sure about, rindy's handbags get cut up and sewn in to pvc dresses for lap dancers in blackpool.

Re: Recycling/charity.

It was reported in the press that some re-cycled UK refuse is shipped to China and dumped in land fill sites because it's more economical.

That's scandalous.

they already do in Hyndburn but its with schools instead of estates!! You pledge to the school with your address that you recycle... how the council check that I have no idea

.
then perhaps councils shouldnt sell their tips, councils arnt run by very bright people are they

sell tips - spend the money they made to pay to tip at the tip they sold and our own tip is getting filled by rubbish from manchester and liverpool bin waggons

sell off all their houses - end up paying £80 a week rent for a house they once owned and only had to pay around £50 a week for ( not considering they sold teh house at a huge undermarket value)

yes most of teh houses have now been sold to a housing assosiation that will still charge low rents but i am refering to the houses sold on teh right to buy which people then rent out at around £80
