Ring your local councillor and ask them to take your rubbish to the tip. They won't do but I bet you they will soon ring the rubbish dept on your behalf

Re: refuge collections

That's ridiculous
I remember having a problem where my bin was out and not emptied (Laneside)
Everyone else's was
Rang them but they did send them back out.
I dunno if it was cos I caught them literally turning out the street
And I rang straight away
Not sure, but it was a while ago too

Saw loads of recycle bags and boxes blown everywhere last recycling collection time

Rossendale probably disagreed to doing half the council's job for them
Hence them being able to chuck anything recyclable in

Re: refuge collections

Yes its a joke.

I have to ring the council atleast one a week to come and sweep my area, they kinda know who I am now.

IIRC ring 388111 ask for cleansing.

Or email - [email protected]

Re: refuge collections

Friday is our collection day, last Friday was the recycling collection. Out of the whole street they somehow managed to miss our block, but only one side of our block. Told them on Friday dinnertime. “They collect while half four” was the reply…“ring back at around half three if the still have not collected.” I rang at half three to be told that they collect till half four, I said I know but you told me to ring at half three. She said ring at half four and we will put it down as a missed collection. I asked her to contact the collection team, apparently they have no contact with them whilst they are on the road.

It was reported after 4:30pm (when it was too damned late to rectify the problem ) and I was told collection would be on Monday. I slipped a few explanatory notes in the doors of the neighbours who were out. Monday came and went, as did Tuesday. Eventually the collection was made today and the cheeky gits posted us all a note telling us to leave our rubbish out by 7:30am on collection day…LIKE IT WAS OUR FAULT

Re: refuge collections

I thought that you had to have it out for 8am?? thats what the paperwork i have form the council says, have they changed it and not told anyone? Ive never had any problems where i am but have noticed the following day that other people have not had it collected (mainly recycling) The only problem ive had is having to chase my box down the street as they just threw it and the only way i could have caught my blue bag was if it had a string attatched (it was a windy day and was around 20' up when i noticed) wouldnt mind but I have a garden and if they'd have chucked it in at least it would have been "contained" for a short while

It definately states 07:30 on the note.

Re: refuge collections

Our paper work says 7.30am Like AccyLass on the one occasion they missed ours they came back within 30mins of us complaining. I have now no complaints about the service apart from the fortnightly collection and that's not down to the crews them selves.

Re: refuge collections

In Rossendale we have green bins - normal household rubbish, blue bins for recycling, brown bins for garden waste and either a white sack or grey bin for paper (you have to ask for the grey bin and also prove that you will fill it up otherwise you get another sack).
