Remember Alec Beating ..... Result !!!!
Last Monday my son Alec was beaten up when he came out of the school gates at 4.30pm after he had been to his Duke Of Edinburgh meeting. 3 youths for no reason what so ever jumped Alec from behind a parked van. He managed to get away and was badly shaken and bruised. They had gone for his head.
He recognised one lad as being a fellow pupil at his school and when i took him to see the headmaster the next day we managed to find out who the other two lads was.
I got the police involved and made sure the police officer knew that in no certain terms was i prepared to let this drop.
After doing all the statements and having his injuries photographed we have sat and waited for an outcome. Last night the police came around again to tell us that all 3 youths had been arrested, 2 had had cautions as it was their first offence and the 3rd lad who was the instigator of the attack had held his hands up and pleaded guilty to common assault. He told the police he had "attacked the wrong lad, mistaken identity". The police have charged him , as apparantly he has done this before a few times.
He will be in youth court next week.
Now i need to talk to Alecs Headmaster, Mr Bateman of Moorhead as this lad goes to the same school as Alec and i want to make sure it will be safe for him. In my opinion, seeing as this lad has hit other pupils he should be excluded from the school.

Good result.... Of course, due to our lax legal system, all this lad will come away with is an ASBO at the most or a slap on the wrists at the least. Of course, if he's really lucky he may get a little jolly to somewhere hot courtesy of the tax payer....
Good on you for persuing this though. It's not everyone who would have the courage to stand up against these young thugs.

Re: Remember Alec Beating ..... Result !!!!
Have just spoken to Mr Bateman. The lad is excluded from school this week and will hopefully have bail condition put on him that he is not allowed to go near Alec. Mr Bateman also told me that he told the police he hoped the police would not drop it either.
He has told me that if he goes anywhere near Alec at school he will be permamently excluded.
I dont know why he is excluded at the moment. So obviously a bad one in school too.

A nice bit of news, and worth the wait. Just a case of waiting now for the CPS to do their job right and this bully to be hauled in front of th beaks.

Re: Remember Alec Beating ..... Result !!!!
That's good news.
I'm glad the school followed your lead by excluding him.

WELL DONE YOU and great news that there has been an outcome and that you haven't just been fobbed off, no doubt because of your strength in character

Re: Remember Alec Beating ..... Result !!!!
I'm glad the Head has supported you on this. You could ask for further information on the exclusion - and also lobby the governors for permanent exclusion if you want. You are entitled to see a list of the governors, with contact addresses, at the school (can be one of the downsides of being a school governor!) and you are entitled to approach the Chair of Governors if you feel it necessary.
Just glad to see that something concrete is being done about this.

Re: Remember Alec Beating ..... Result !!!!
What a brave lady you are Jimmy !! if all parents did this then bullying of this nature would be a thing of the past; so easy to be scared of reprisals, isn't it ?? I'm sure that the school were pleased with you too, as you will be also supporting them in their 'non-bullying policy', and this is why they have responded so well.
You heard the expression 'huh, you and whose army?' .. well we on here will be your soldiers if you need any further support xxxxx
