RIP Jack Lomax

I have been informed that Jack Lomax died last week in Baxenden. Jack had the cooked meats stall in the market for as long as I can remember. He also owned the cafe opposite and his grandson runs that I believe. My mother used to work on the stall in the late forties and early fifties and I well remember spending many happy hours down there on Saturday mornings with the Odeon picture show sandwiched between. Jack used to take me along in his van when he was doing deliveries of ready made sandwiches to local pubs. He and his wife were long time friends of my parents and Jack was one of life's gentlemen. He leaves a daughter Sandra. RIP Jack and if there is anywhere after this life, I certainly hope they like your sandwiches as much as I did.
