True, and of course the Lancashire accents shortens words and phrases too.
It's just that it's much warmer, and expressive, than the ever spreading Estuary English. Which has swallowed many traditional local accents in the south east.
Language is always in a state of flux, and ever changing.
Doesn't mean we have to like it though.
