My original post was not meant to be pro or anti E.U. It was started as an observation of what can be achieved by goverments and voluntary bodies such as the Angling Trust, the Ribble catchment area Trust and others who are prepared to give their time and money for the benefit of others.

There are footpaths along the stretch of the Hyndburn that I mentioned in my original post, surely it must be better for anyone taking a stroll along the banks to see, smell and even photograph,a trout stream than the open sewer that was long known as the River stink
