Robust biscuits

You ever have this thing happen where you dunk (Ah well I do it..publicly too! Tut! hahaha) a biscuit (malted milk, gingernut...whatever you like most) in your brew, it separates and then you have to get a teaspoon to scoop up the lovely mush in the bottom of the cup?
Ah banal, I know, but sometimes simple everyday stuff is good

I couldn't do that with any biscuit that I dunked (not that I dunk very often) because I like leaf tea and brew it in a mug......if the biscuit sank to the bottom it would have to stay there.......I like tea but wouldn't want to eat the leaves...with or without biscuit

Always amazed me by the habit of eating bread with potato pie, stews, etc., and wiping the last bit of gravy up with your bread. Sure it tastes good though, just could not match the two together somehow.

Re: Robust biscuits

I like Rich Tea biscuits and they are available as round or oblong
The oblong are way too fragile for dunking, but the round ones need breaking in half to dunk
this thread is surreal

My tea drinking habits come from working in the weaving mill(many moons ago) we used to buy what was called a 'brewing'......loose tea and sugar combined, all that was needed was a splash of milk.......and after that I never ever could get used to teabags.
Now you know why I don't Dunk.

Re: Robust biscuits

They were threepence and would make two very strong brews or four less strong brews.
The brewings came in a twist of greaseproof paper.......and we could brew up anytime we liked as long as our looms were running well.

I don't know what brand of tea they used but it always made a really good brew.

Re: Robust biscuits

There was once an oat biscuit for dunking, it was an oval shape rather than round.
Not seen them for years.
