I suspect that before any permanent structure is erected there, we will see a Santa's Grotto. Garinda will, no doubt, will be at the front of the queue.

I like how the yellow "Slippery Floor" cone has replaced the cafe.

Re: Room for the clock to return?
Whoever took them had better be carefull as when i took them there was NOT a sign saying i could not take them but there is now at both entrances so they would be within there rights to have them arrested

Re: Room for the clock to return?
When I took the old clock photos there weren't any signs either Mick. Did you ask what the reason was for the ban?
The only think I saw there this afternoon were the three benches in a sort of triangle shape.

Re: Room for the clock to return?
If you stand at the site of the cafe, can you still have a ciggie?

Maybe if you stand inside the triangle created by the three benches.

Re: Room for the clock to return?
Did anyone ever find a logical reason why photography was not allowed in the Arndale? I seem to remember quite a few portrait photographers setting up their stall just outside W H Smiths.

I dont think they could arrest you, its not exactly illegal. They could just turf you out of the arndale i presume..

That's a point. I remember my daughter having one done there when she missed her school portrait one year due to being off ill. Didn't Father Christmas used to have his photo taken there with children too?

Re: Room for the clock to return?
I don't know what the cafe was called. We mean the one which was under the oval domd roof part in front of Ethel Austins/Superdrug/WH Smiths - see photos.
