School reports

I was digging around in my old boxes and found my school report - I was going to share some of them with you but got a bit embarressed.

I will share the fact that my conduct was always A until I the year that I came top in the class when my conduct was B - I don't remember it but I must have been getting a bit cocky.

Having said that I do want to go back and ask how I could get a B for my Worded Arithmatic (not even absolutely sure what that is now) when I got 68 out of 70. If that's a B it's a pretty high standard.

I don't think current exam standards are that high - these days you get a B for writing your name neatly.

Anyone else kept their reports?

Re: School reports

Mine were always good but not amazing, more creative than methodical, blah, blah, blah.

My parents were called into school when I was 14 by my English master at QEGS. I was heavily into D. H. Lawrence at the time and I'd written a mini epic instead of the expected two sides for some homework, and which was deemed pornographic.

My parents were very pleased, and I still have it along with all my reports.

Re: School reports

Creativity wasn't exactly encouraged at my school either. I sort of stood out a bit as the only one in my year who wanted to do Art for O level and then on to A level.

I have still got mine and the funny thing is my two sons reports seem to mirror mine...

"Must try harder" & "Is capable of so much more" & "must learn when to keep quiet"

I did O level Art Gayle! I got my best results for that too.

My classic report is the one that says "would be a mathematical genius if only she could learn to add up"

Alot of mine said Joanne is easily distracted, could try harder, always in subjects that I weren't keen on though, worked harder for the strict teachers!
