Re: See no Evil
I find watching this kind of real life drama very uncomfortable, just like whenever they use personal tragedy for entertainment. ( I blame Shakespeare of course) Although, as a scripted piece of drama, the acting was very good. Didn't Froggat start off in a soap? The other one was in 'Shameless' which was fantastic!
Incidently, I went to boarding school next to Saddleworth and when i left (through the basement window) i had to walk along one of the roads... in the dark.

Re: See no Evil
Phew found her.
She was in Corrie nine years ago as Zoe Tattersall, the pregnant teenager Judy and Gary Mallet took in, and whose unborn baby they were going to adopt.

Re: See no Evil
The husband of a friend of mine was a police superintendant and had a colleague who had been involved in the Brady/Hindley case. I met this man about 15 years later and he told me he had had to be in Court, for the trial, where the tapes Brady had recorded of his torture of Lesley Ann Downey were played. That man, also a superintendant and very much a "hardened" policeman, told me it was the worst thing he ever experienced in his career. He said that if either of them was ever released from prison he hoped he would be "at the other end of the country" because, as he said, "The relatives of that little girl have sworn they will kill them if they're let out. It would be my duty to stop that happening - and I don't want to have to."
Brady was, is, purely evil and completely twisted. Hindley, in my view, was even worse but also very clever. She convinced so many people that she was a reformed character, including the loony Lord Longford and several prison governors (I am quite certain I saw her in Tesco at Irlam while she was in Styal prison. I know the governor used to take her out.) and gave the impression she was deeply religious and remorseful. Never the less it took her 17 years to admit that she and Brady had killed Pauline Reed and Keith Bennett, hardly the action of a penitent woman, and that only happened when she thought there might be the chance of release.
The programme was well balanced but it didn't, couldn't, convey the full sickening truth of what that pair did. I have read several books on the subject and, of course, followed the case when it happened. The dramatisation was quite accurate but, of necessity, abrieviated.

Re: See no Evil
I was only 8yrs old when it happened. The thoughts and images of that poor little girl crying for her Mammy have never ever left me and still get tears in my eyes when I think of her.
I was heart broken when I watched the programme.
I feel so sorry for Winnie still going to the moors to this day not knowing were her son is.
How can a woman cry over the death death of a dog and assist in the murders of children.
In my eyes she was far far worse than Brady.
They shouldn't have hung her right away but torchered them like they torchered that little girl.

Re: See no Evil
I did watch it but can't say it was pleasant viewing, i do hope the victims families gave approval for the program. as been said thankfully it did not go to deeply into the sickening details of what these two "evil" people did, if it had I personnaly would not have been able to watch. sick or evil? to me someone who is mentally sick may say they had no control over what they do,whether sick or evil they should have been done away with along time ago. Brady and Hindley certainly knew what they were doing. the only excuse for them not to be executed is if they showed the were abouts of the victims bodies.

Re: See no Evil
We have just finished watching the second part and I admit that it tore at my heart. I've seen other versions of the Moors Murders but to film it from her sister's point of view made me realise how many innocent folk were affected as well as the victim's families.
I just hope that having been denied the death penalty, Myra went to her grave in fear. I'm not terribly religious but I certainly wouldn't like to have all that in my head. As for Brady, his turn will come.
A quiet moment for those poor kids.

Re: See no Evil
I watched both parts and found it very disturbing. I agree that shows like these turn the publicity on to them and they probably lap it up-obviousley apart from hindley who is 6ft under where she belongs. This crime will still get talked about in 50 years time and the more programs are shown like this the longer people will remember the sad twisted evil gits. There was a programme on BBC1 a few weeks ago about Beverly Allitt the nurse dubbed the angel of death she was played by Charlie Brookes who acted it well but again publicity to the murderer which is what they want, but no doubt ITV and BBC will be jumping back on the band wagon and deciding which sicko they're going to put on our screens next. I feel sorry for the families having to relive it all time and time again as no doubt they'll have to give their permission.

Re: See no Evil
I've just read it, didn't realise it was in that much detail. Quite sickening. Makes you wonder what went on in their heads and would she of gone that way if she hadn't of met him? We'll never know. It was a good link i have saved it to look at more in depth later
