Sexist advertisement

Has anyone seen the latest Kinder Bueno advert ?

It consists of three women observing the rear of a male waiter as he attends another table. One of the aforementioned women then drop a spoon on the floor so that all of the women can proceed in leering at the man's rear as he bends over to pick it up.

Now I am the only person who thinks that if this was the other way around and it was three males dropping something so that the attractive female waitress could bend over so the males could do some sight seeing, that the advertisement would not be allowed to be broadcast as it is blatant sexism.

Re: Sexist advertisement

I've seen it, and didn't think it was offensive. I also wouldn't think it offensive if it was three men oggling a woman. Sexual politics have thankfully moved on over the last thirty or so years. Both sexes can be seen as predatory, which they can be, and it is tongue in cheek.

What I do think is sexist is Sheila's Wheels car insurance. That discriminates against men, and there would be an outcry if male only insurance was offered. I don't know how they manage to get away with it lawfully...besides the theme tune drives me mad.

It sounds about the same level as the 'diet Coke break' ads, bit tongue in cheek.

I find it ammusing that the tables have been turned. Whats good for goose is good for the gander. Guy's would have a cheek if they complained after what women suffered in the past to sell to guy's.

Re: Sexist advertisement

sheilas wheels and diamond do seem to get away with murder , i wonder if an insurance company could get away with saying we will only insure whites or blacks ?

i think they get around it by saying you can have a man as a named driver but still if a company said we will insure only whites but you can have a black friend as a named driver it wouldnt go down too well

it may have somthing to do with this rubbish that women are better drivers but if a report came out saying black people were better drivers so a company didnt have to insure whites then again it still dosnt realy excuse the blatent discrimination

MrD works in insurance maybe he can enlighten us as to how they get away with it because if they can what is to stop shops from saying we dont want to serve blacks, whites , short people , tall peopel etc etc

as for teh origional topic these adverts have been done before years ago with teh coca cola window washer advert

I dont think there's anything wrong with the advert and wouldn't mind if it was the other way round either, I hate all the pc stuff, it was great to watch Life on Mars last night for that very reason!

Yes but being classed as 'disabled', as well as not being exclusively heterosexual, gives me two bonus point.

Oh and being pretty, that's three.

Of course it happens, but that isn't really the point, the point I was making was if the roles were reversed there would be a much stronger opposition to the advert.

Well not on here, by the amount of people saying if the advertisment was reversed, they still wouldn't find it offensive.

Thirty years ago newagents and bookshops were paint bombed if they sold top shelf magazines, now very often it's women who own the publishing companies of the said magazines. Happily things have moved on.
