shacking up couples v married couples

came across this news story about inheritance rights , seems some couples and their lawyers think a couple living "over the brush" should have the same inheritance rights as a married couple , what do Accy webbers think ? where do you draw the line ?
just wondering .......

it is summat that needs sorting, also from pension perspective, daft as it is, a married couples pension is less than 2 single people.
