Re: Slapstick Mandy
I don't particularly care who was attacked, as it's also happened to Heath, Thatcher, as well as most famously Prescott, but having just seen the news coverage of it I must say I'm shocked.
The woman was just allowed to walk away, and then the B.B.C. interviewed her, and broadcast her political message in full. There are no plans to charge her with any offence.
I've no particular liking for Peter Mandelson, but when parents are prosecuted for slapping a naughty child, to get away with this sort of atack scott free seems outrageous. I suppose she'd also be allowed to walk away if it had been acid she'd thrown in someone's face.
If you can't get your point of view across using democratic means, violence, no matter how trivial, isn't the answer.
I think the group Miss Deen represents has a very fitting name, Plane Stupid.

Re: Slapstick Mandy
Just to say I agree Garinda completely. Has not done her group any good whatsoever. Is a physical attack green custard or yellow custard or a Nori brick !
If people who are for the new runway in the shape of job opportunities, etc., had slapped her in the face with something similar, no doubt would have been a bigger outcry.

All you Sun readers better watch out, it could be you she's attacking next, whilst you're drooling over....

Re: Slapstick Mandy
I know it's nothing to do with Mandy and his custard but whatever happened to, perhaps our most famous eco-warrior, Swampy?

Re: Slapstick Mandy
Must admit i really cant Stomach Peter Mandleson, but i thought he handled the situation very well, and with dignity. The press of course fell right into this silly bitch's trap and went scurrying for interviews...idiots!! How do moron's like her expect to be taken seriously, seems they have to keep taking increasingly desperate measures to get their moment of fame! I really cant believe she was'nt arrested, and if the police dont take action what kind of message is this sending out!
Best Regards - Taggy
PS...Did make me laugh though when he was interviewed later and was reminded about an earlier event regarding Guacamole...saying you never quite know what your'e going to be getting in a Chip Shop in Northern England....Mushy Peas or Guacamole....I knew there was something missing from the menu at Tony's Chippy on Burnley Road!!
Best Regards - Taggy

I stopped reading the Sun in 1997 when they said they were supporting Labour, I actually wrote to Mr Harris, the editor at the time to tell him why I would not be reading his paper any more, but with fair play to him he did reply and not just with a standard reply, but I haven't read the sun since

thats a sad reason to stop buying a paper IMHO. i stopped reading it after the "Hillsbourgh" incident n i always bought it a couple of times a week fer the sports coverage. i still buy the "Daily Mail" every sat n its as tory as ya come, but it suits my purpose that particular day. we may differ but i think the way they portrayed that disaster is a valid reason to ignore it.

Re: Slapstick Mandy
Was gonna say a similar thing to Cashman... the way they reported the Hillsbourgh disaster was a disgrace.. I reckon it was a culmination of the contempt they, and the Tory Government at that time, held on the ordinary folk of this country...the Sun only changed it's allegiance to Labour when they realized people hated the Tories ....and to carry on backing them would have affected sales.
