Re: so its election day again...
Out of interest, how many people on here follow European politics anyway?
As for the policies of the EU, which I've studied for two years now, the more people I ask about them, the less people seem to actually know about the EU at all.

Well it means they have got two high profile representatives Mancie, the fact that they have a few councillors up and down the country is nothing but they have now won two seats at a national level, even though they polled less votes than 2004 mainly because the Labour vote collapsed thus increasing their share of the vote

That's very true claytonender, it said on the news last night that over the next five years they could expect to receive around £4 million for staffing stationary etc, as you say its not so much them being MEPs its what financial gain they make

Re: so its election day again...
Maybe it won't be so bad... it isn't anything we have experienced fully yet and we just ASSUME it will be like the holocaust or whatever, but I think the likelihood is that we are probably taking it to the extremes because of media hype and stuff.
We'll just have to wait and see and vote against them in future. I'd be interested to know how many people on accyweb actually voted BNP.

To quote you mancie "far right extremists from this country want rid off Romanians and Hungarians" so because you are not a far right extremist it must mean you welcome them?

Why?
Would it prove anything?

I depends on what kind of people they are....last year I was in the same ward with a young Romanian lad that had his foot amputated...his parents were paying for his treatment by the surgeon here and they came from Romania to visit him... of course I welcomed them because at least I've got basic manners....and you've got the cheek to call yourself English Bagpuss?... it's people like you this country could do without.

Maybe if the elected politicians actually did what they were elected to do .... represent the best interests and actual views of their constituants , NOT what they think is best for them, then maybe the BNP wouldn't have got the support they did .

That is it but they don't listen, it was good that last weeks elections gave me a choice of parties different from the usual two.

So the BNP represent the best interests and views of constituants and not what is "best" for them?... let's get things clear..the BNP have the best interests in mind for a very few people in this country and for today you and I maybe included in that few...but next week it could be anyone they don't like the look of..and if people are protesting against a Government they don't like by voting for a party that if even got close to power in this country, would regret they did.

So someone had to wait even longer for treatment while someone paid and jumped the queue. That is wrong in my opinion.
