So what did you do on Fathers Day?

Lets see who had a good day or a bad day.

I woke ever hour or so from midnight till I eventually got out of bed at about 7am. Ok yeah I was in the hospital with Tom and I kept waking because his infusion machine kept bleeping and I kept wanting to check he was ok.

Had an ace breakfast in the hospital restaurant - next time someone says do you like hospital food I will be saying yes

Rhonda came to the hospital with Sam and Tom's best friend Hollie. I opened my cards in the hospital from the boys. He was eventually discharged about 1pm. Took him home and sorted out the washing from hospital.

Next I went to visit my Dad and found him in the back garden cutting down trees. So I spent the next couple of hours cutting down trees and cutting up the big bits for a wood burner.

Came home, went to collect Emily from Rhonda's nieces. We had some tea and I started messing with Rhonda's car radio which has been rubbish for a while. Ended up fitting a new one as the old one was naff. Found front right speaker blown so I will be looking for news ones soon for her. Need to sort out the annoying exhaust squeek soon as well. Did rear wheel bearing last week and brake pipes on mine - its been all car stuff recently

Came inside about 9.15 after finishing the car to find Sam on the PC and everyone else in bed.

The last few days with Tom in hospital have been very tiring for us both so I will let her off

I will be off to bed soon myself, well I will if I can convince Rhonda that she does not need all the pillows and she will be more comfortable if she was not still dressed

I had a good day, spent time with my children and my Dad

So what did the rest of you Dads get up to on Fathers Day.

Re: So what did you do on Fathers Day?

woken by Siobhan and Joseph with cards and pressies

took my mum shopping ( she's 80 ) with Siobhan as we always do.

went to see Julies Dad with his pressies and cards in the affy.

Gave my Dad a new home.... ( See who can guess what this means!!! )

made a nice tea, put Joseph to bed, made Siobhan some CDs to listen to in bed ( Ke$ha, Lady GAGA and Alex Burke )

sat with a few cold beers, ( Old Pec, Old Thumper ) and a couple of nice teachers and diet coke whilst watching brazil vx Ivory coast.

off to bed in a min....

Been good and relaxed IMHO.

Re: So what did you do on Fathers Day?

Took Phone call from daughter this morning, usual fathers day crap, tried to put a new picture on living room wall, but sodding drill wouldn't drill through stone, went to mates up street n borrowed his hammer drill- job done! went oer to the range to take summat back, as part wouldn't fit where it should, a nice asian guy explained to me that it does n i am stupid. but he showed me much nicer n i would have done. watched italy match, paris made me me favourite fer tea, god knows why, i aint her dad. son rang up from london, more fathers day crap, luckily fer him, he had sense to ring at half time during Brazil game, n sense to hang up, just before second half started, was also sorted this morning that we are having grandaughter fer the day next tuesday, to give daughter a break, cos expecting next month n looks like Billy Bunter, so all in all, had a thoroughly enjoyable day, even if it is a load of crap.

Re: So what did you do on Fathers Day?

Daughter one (Rocio) came round about 11am, brought me a CD (and some beer). Daughter two (Beatriz) came round about 2pm, brought me some Toberlone (and some beer), went up pub to watch footy, came back just in time to meet daughter three (Hazel) who brought me a book (and some beer).

Feeling a bit knackered now...can't think why.

Re: So what did you do on Fathers Day?

I have been dog sitting my friend's brown labrador today. Took him over the Coppice, met Accylass ... had a lovely hour to her chatting with her and her two children plus one other. Even though Paddy (the dog) also decided that pond dipping in the lodge was a good idea.

Came home ... Paddy and I chatted. Had to put him on lead whilst he went out in garden .. saw cat ..tried to chase...me prostrate on lawn .. LOL.

Made me tea ...yummee.... steak, chips and brussel sprouts. Then lovely walk again around the Woodlands.

I am knackered !!!

Guess why I am putting up this post. .. because my son has sent me a lovely Father's day card to say "Have a great Father's Day, because you're both Mum and Dad to me". Yes, I know that .. but thanks for the recognition son... love you too... xx

I know that Cashy ... tell you what though .. you will like this. This card he sent me was one of those where they have a black and white still from an old film... he knows me so well. Guy reading newspaper, caption says :

"Dad had just read so much about the terrible effects of drinking beer (he had crossed out beer and put Bacardi) that he immediately decided to give up reading" ....
