Something different!

When I was a kid it was strange to see too many cars out on the road on Christmas Day. There was maybe a couple of buses about but only in the afternoon and a few cars going out and about.

I had to walk down to Bash from Rising Bridge to take my nieces birthday pressie. I set off about midday and got back about 1.15. What it was is the amount of cars on the road on Christmas Day. There were loads. A lot more than i expected to be on the road on Christmas Day. Even my sis commented on it when she picked me up that there was a lot more this christmas day than what shes seen before. I know there are a lot more cars on the roads now from when i was kid but still to walk down there and have to wait to cross the road - it was more like a normal weekday or Saturday than what it was a Christmas Day.

By the way the woman who was walking 2 dogs wearing a pink hat, pink trakkie bottoms, pink coat and pink trainers with her partner/hubby/wotever wearing a black coat. CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOGS. PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO WALK ON A FOOTPATH FULL OF DOG *** especially when both dogs **** at the same time but one at one side of the footpath and the other at the otherside. If I could have walked fast enough to catch them and tell them i would have. But they were too far ahead of me. By the way they came out of Alliance Street.

Re: Something different!

Strangely I thought the same thing to day, when I set off in my car for our family party...so perhaps there's the answer!

Years ago it used to be like a ghost town, the only traffic being kids out riding their new bikes.

We went up to Kirkstone Inn today. It's a Boxing Day tradition of ours. The roads were very quiet. I took 3 cameras but ended up not photographing much at all. the fog was too thick. If it had been a lighter mist there would have been some quiet interesting scenes.

Re: Something different!

We had a few around but mostly taxis. Mind you it was quieter than normal for cars but that was good for the kids out and about with their new bikes and radio controlled toys.
