Southern Cross Care Homes

I hope that they manage to keep open and no residents are booted out and have to find somewhere else to live ...

BBC News - Southern Cross set to shut down and stop running homes

they have people with dementia .. and if they have to be moved it can be very upsetting for them ... and for their families ... especially if they cant find somewhere nearby that will take them ...

Re: Southern Cross Care Homes

It is disturbing news and the families will naturally be very concerned .

According to the news the residents will continue to receive care . Let's hope it's not in such a way that will cause them distress .

I worked in a nursing home for 10 years . A local residential home had to close down . Three of the residents came to the nursing home and settled in very well . The fact that they knew each other well was a big help to them .

Re: Southern Cross Care Homes

And on this very day Cameron unveils his master plan to farm out public services to the private sector:
David Cameron: public services to be opened up to competition - Telegraph

Will we never learn?... when has privatisation of any public service done any good for the vast majority of the public in this country?...maybe the usual suspects can scrape one out of the barrel but in the main it's always turned out bad;
Railways..disaster for the public
British Gas..disaster
Care Homes..obvious disaster
So where is the evidence that privatisation works for public services ?
