Stars in your eyes

Yes, ok I admit I've been watching it.

But it got me thinking who would I be if I was ever on it. Dolly Parton would be close to the top of my list but I think my southern twang would be best put to use with Don't it make my brown eyes blue by Crystal Gayle - and how fitting that would be?

Oh, apart from the fact that I have blue eyes - never mind, I can't sing either!

So who would you be?

I think I would be Jim Reeves, although I don't look a bit like him, I have sung a number of his songs in Karaoke bars here and abroad and I am told I sound like him.

No, just past my shoulders but I could wear a wig. Nothing I can do to sort out the blue eyes and the terrible singing voice.

Just watching a profile on Dusty Springfield, always wished I could sing like that .. hey, seems she was gay Never knew that, puts a whole new light on her doesn't it ? Know it shouldn't, but can't help looking at her differently somehow.

Yes, she was fabulous, but now listen to the lyrics in her songs in an entirely different way >> always thought about her singing to a man, and would link my thoughts to these lyrics when I was madly in love with some fella' (as we do), but now all ruined for me.

A bit like Will Young really .. has had some lovely love songs written for him, but well all a little tongue in cheek... he isn't singing to any young voluptuous woman, is he ?

Anyway, would still like to do her on Stars if only I could sing like that, but would definitely have some fella in mind... tee hee.

I watched it too. Brilliant programme.

Ive loved her music since I was three, when my aunt used to play me her records.

Diva, a wonderful voice and a tortured soul.

I have been known to belt out 'Son of a Preacherman'- but sound rather more like Paul Robeson that Dusty.
