Don't know where you'd buy it - I've only ever eaten when out - but I have found this recipe for you.

http://www.jbs.co.uk/consumer/recipe..._onion_jam.htm

If you try it let me know how it goes.

Smoked salmon with freshwater mussels or (clapidoos) as the locals call them, served on a bed of bovine tripe, washed down with a bottle chardonay followed by Pickadilly tart, washed down with a bottle of Shiraz. and followed by a giant 'hangover'.

Thick toast with real butter, strawberry jam and slices of a good, sharp cheddar is a delicacy that goes down well with me slinky. Especially for a late supper.

Go on! Give it a try!
