Re: Stolen Wheelie bin - replacement not available!

Well I have stick on numbers, of course they can be removed, as can paint. Think painting the number inside the bin was pointed out before but also that you would have to lift the lids on lots of bins to find your own.

Thought of perhaps branding my number into the bin with a soldering iron or some such like. Then again if some hard faced sod is going to steal it, they will, whether it’s numbered up or not.

Having to buy one when yours is stolen because you have to put it out on bin day for the bin men is absolutely ridiculous.Anyway I thought the council made a hoohah about it being their bin and that's why you can't take the chip out, so if it's theirs and it gets stolen how come you have to pay? They want it all ends up.

For those of you that are still waiting for your wheelie bins, there is an atricle in the Citizen tonight that says there is a shortage on parts for them. Apparantly the company that make them had a fire.

It's the company that makes the wheels that had the fire.

No, you can't have a bin at all until the wheel makers are back in action again.

The Observer says that Hyndburn has 300 bins to give out to those that need them.

As far as paying for a replacement, why did you? Like Willow said it is not your bin, it belongs to the Council. Well thats what they tell us over here anyway.

How much did they charge you for your bin?

Are you not playing that down a bit ? I'm pretty sure PB said it was a crack team of council specialists that tracked them down
