Strike Affecting schools

I know there was a thread about the dustbin men going on strike but you might want to check if your kids have notes in their pockets/bags for a couple of days off next week.

Apparently Hollins is closed Wednesday & Thursday. Mount Carmel is open.

Re: Strike Affecting schools

got a newsletter from school today and it says...........

you will have seen in the news and papers that the union UNISON are going on strike next week, on the 16th and 17th of July. Many of the non teaching staff are in UNISON. However, at the present time, this will not affect the school, and it will be open as usual for the children on these two days.

My sister works in the nursery at Sacred Heart School and that is closed, last time a strike affected their school her son was off school and she was working. I feel sorry for any kids in their last week at the schools which are affected because they miss out on a lot of fun activities.

We haven't either, must still be opening.

What about St Nicholas' (off Dill Hall) and St Pauls (Union Rd, Ossy)? Any one know about them too?

Go on then explain how that works.
And what extra service will I be getting for funding this rise via my income tax payments?
