When my sister moved out to Brisbane in Oct 2003 she used to watch the English TV programmes on Oz TV to see if she could catch a glimpse of 'breath' meaning it was a cold and frosty day....because she missed the cold weather (how sad is that)....Now I think she might just have acclimatized, because she told me that this winter she has gone back to sleeping in winceyette jim-jams!

Re: Summer V Winter

read an article once in a magazine saying that more people suffer from depression in winter, and i have to agree with that statement. when you go out in the winter in britain most people look glum have their heads down. it became very noticable when i lived abroad people seem to have a smile on their faces, and i'm not meaning tourists.

I voted winter, but I've changed my mind. I am currently looking forward to our 'super winter' over here, but I know after 2 months I'll be fed up of it and wanting sunshine again....

I'd like to say summer but after spending most of today in 33 degree heat a bit of snow would go down very well at the min, just turned the air con down as far as it will go :-)

Re: Summer V Winter

If you are worried about heat you can have the gas burning stacks from the refinery up here gaurenteed to keep the place warm. Scotland could be gripped in a blizzard and thanks to the refinery we wont see the snow as we have our own heating blowers 15 at the last count.
