What's a sun shower? I must be behind the times. I've never heard of them.

Re: Sunbeds...
I went to Turkey a couple of years ago. I used SPF50 went out on a boat & came back like a lobster. I used the same lotion as my little'un & he was fine!!! It depends on your skin type.

Like a big walk in sun bed room were you stand up instead of lieing down.
I also agree sunbeds and sun showers aren't the healthiest of things but I don't suit milk bottle white, so I'll cream up well and keep using them and worry about the effects when I'm old and wrinkly!

Re: Sunbeds...
I'm already old and wrinkly so I'm past worrying by now.

Old and wrinkly comes a lot sooner than you think.......and believe me, when it does come.....you don't like it! Well, I don't anyway.

Re: Sunbeds...
I prefer to stay pale and interesting. If I am ever tempted by sunbeds, I just look at 'before and after' pictures of Brigette Bardot (sp?). I probably don't look right being so pale, but I wuldn't look right being haggard and wrinkly before my time either.

Re: Sunbeds...
My neighbours must think I'm strange because I don't sit out in the sun the minute it appears. I prefer to stay indoors with all the windows open. I have burnt too many times & learned my lesson

Re: Sunbeds...
I love to sit in the sun and hate being cold. I really shouldn't be living in this country. I do take care to cover myself in some good suncream factor 15 and above. When abroad I will usually get under a sunshade for a while. I tend to find that suncreams make good moisturisers and always wear SPF 15 on my face, even in winter, or a moisturiser containing SPF.

Re: Sunbeds...
I got a decent tan in Spain recently but I always put cream on;and a tan intensifier by Piz Buin;it's expensive but keeps the tan for longer and moisturises too.My daughter had factor 60 on some days;20 and 25 on other and still her scalp got burnt when she was in the pool. Not much you can do about that really as her hat kept floating off!
I have a load of sunbed sessions that a mate bought me for Xmas,I will use them eventualy but it's not the same as a good bask!

Re: Sunbeds...
Well i must say my arms are looking pretty tanned with the sun around but after being on the sunbed my chest is a bit sore and a bit red. That'll teach me.
I'm sorry to hear about your friend mick, you never really think about the consequences until it happens.
I didn't have any lotion or cream on cos it never occured to me but if I were to go on the sunbed or sun shower again then I will make sure I use sun lotion.
Thanks for all the advice
