I don't have a problem with my Doc. Maybe you need to move to another practice.

It isn't that easy. Practices will pick and choose who they want, and the really good practices(where are they, then) are usually over-subscribed.
When i joined Peel House it was a really good practice.......with Doctors that I knew and trusted(many of them had trained on the wards that I had myself worked on)....now it has got too big and is very impersonal.......you never see the same doctor twice, so how do they maintain continuity...short answer is that they don't.
To them it doesn't seem to matter, but to patients it is of paramount importance.

How did we manage before almost every house had a phone or everyone had a mobile? Yes, I remember sitting in the Surgery Waiting Room for what seemed like hours, but probably no more than an hour - always in the evening.
Group practices seem to be a great idea - for the doctors and the nurses that are employed there - overheads are shared.
Dr McFadden and then Dr Quinn seemed to manage OK without a nurse or receptionist up to the early '60s and they did house visits!

Barrie......that was before the meddling governments got involved. GP's back then saw sick people....and the sick benefitted......now GP's are involved in preventative medicine(and I'm not saying that is a bad thing) and it gets harder and harder for those who are ill to see a doctor.......oh, yes and before anyone has a go......I don't go to the doctor for piffling ailments that I can sort out for myself.(as those folk who know me will testify)

Yes, John......that just shows how very self centred some folk are.......don't they understand the concept of 'emergency'?

I wouldn't visit my GP ever.....I only go when I am in a half Nelson and being railroaded up that hill to the practice........and I do consider that I am lucky to have reasonable health for my age.

Maybe not, when we moved here we just filling in the paperwork and moved surgeries.
