You're not paying for repeats, you're paying for Woss and Brand's exceedingly generous salaries!

Because it is the law......you have to have a licence to receive broadcasts.

It just happens to be one of the most compulsory taxes governed by law

Re: T.V. licence.

yup we live in a country of freedom of choice so if you dont want to watch bbc channels you dont have to pay for a tv licence..

oh hang on a sec i got that wrong

we live in a country where we have freedom of choice except when it comes to teh bbc where even if you dont watch their product we still have to pay for it

i suppose its a bit lik me selling cars and everyone having to pay me for one wether they want it or not because the govenment says they have to or face fines or going to prison

Talking of repeats, I'm sure I've seen this same topic turn up on numerous occasions in the past.

It does look like there is a move to abolish the licence fee, but before you all start cheering, it may be levied from the council tax instead.......at this stage it is just a proposal....but it might just happen.

And to send over 400 people to cover events like Glaso and Wimbledon and don't forget the 17 employees who earn more than the Prime Minister

...and for the BBC to yesterday cover live an idiotic celebration of the life of some bankrupt middle aged American paedopile on BBC2. On the same day, did either BBC1 or BBC2 cover live the unveiling of the 7/7 memorial in London? No.
