Takeaway food.

We usually have takeaway on a friday, but what I have found in Accrington is that, for a while, the food is ok, but once you have ordered a few times, it seems to go downhill, fast, the only consistent one seems to be the chippy opposite the coop in ossie, is it me, or is there a system or something whereby the food is quality (or lack of it) categorised?

Re: Takeaway food.

Probably cos first time you go they want you to come back again. When you've started to become a regular then think oh well its ok he'll be back again next week. Found that if you swap around and dont become a regular at any one then the food stays the same.

Re: Takeaway food.

Depends what kind of food your after. Me and my boyfriend normally get a curry from Akash at the weekends and the standard is brilliant everytime. They send you a calender at xmas aswell lol and a keyring, and sometimes they do xmas cards!

We order the same thing every week and they know once we've said our order that its for our address, and I think its great that they put the same effort in everytime even though they know we'll keep on ordering every week anyway.

Once they sent us too much food, and they let us keep it and gave us a free takeaway the next time we ordered. Brilliant stuff! Number is 01254 384843 if you ever fancy a good curry!

The system is called scores on the doors and there is a website.

Scores On The Doors

I know that Blackburn with Darwen is a participating council but not sure about Hyndburn.

Edit....I've just checked the link and Hyndburn is not a participating council.

I love Indian food, but my partner does'nt, anything above korma is too strong, and she does'nt like coconut, curries from anything except an indian just are'nt to standard. Will try this though, thanks.

My boyfriends like that, but he doesn't mind the spicy chicken, where as I love a really hot curry lol. they do a really nice vegetable curry sauce that isn't hot though and we usually settle for that.

Been there, and have to agree, had chicken tikka shahee twice and it was superb. I work in Clayton, so it is easy if I have the time.

Well, let's face it, he would be, seeing as he goes faint at the sight of a sticking plaster on your arm. I'm surprised he actually allows you to choose something different from himself!

It's never to late to learn. A Good Housekeeping Cookery book taught me at age 18
It was either that or starve - there was no fast food in 1961 - only chip shops and man cannot live by chips alone
