I totally agree with you, all this madness and on the news this morning they are now saying there is going to be no strike.

Of course they did, everyone will have full tanks before Easter weekend and a strike would do nothing.
Have the government broken the strike before it even happened?
Most people will be blaming the tanker drivers for the threat of strike so it might even turn out to be a double hit for the government.
On the other hand if Labour had been in power would they had spoken out against their paymasters Unite?

Re: Tanker Driver' Strike
Just got my weekly petrol from Texaco on Queen Street, Great Harwood. I was the only one there filling up, although the owner said it had been busy in the morning.

I don't think you can gauge anything from that garage. Even if there was a world surplus of free petrol they would still run out. The pumps are closed off there more than they are open

Whether they did it on purpose, it is debatable, but surely if you have a brain keeping your ears apart you don't start to hoard petrol and you certainly do not buy more than you need before the tanker drivers have even made a decision........it is the lunacy of the people with siege mentalities, for listening in the first place.
Still..... those who can't think, like to shove the blame onto someone other than themselves.

I doubt it very much Neil...in fact, pound to a penny they would have done nothing much differently.

Cashy, he hasn't the brains to be an Ass........and if that is harsh then so be it. I say it like I see it.(exactly like someone else I know...not looking precisely in your direction)

Likewise, Michael. The panic must not have spread to The Republic of Great Harwood . . . Yet!

Milliband, the knobhead labour leader was too busy buying himself a hot pasty to realise what was going on.

Re: Tanker Driver' Strike
At first sight this looked like a wind up:
BBC News - Fuel driver hours rules relaxed by government
Hang on here..the tanker drivers voted for "possible" strike action over health and safety along with unsafe working hours..now in response to possible fuel shortages caused by the government they have relaxed the hours petrol tanker drivers can drive from 9 hrs to 11 hrs...who are these idiots? ..
