Teeth , genetic defects , family history

OK this may sound a bit strange/weird ....jumping from another thread .....has anyone else noticed "genetic" defects in their family teeth ? ok, here goes
...My father was born with two teeth , two top center, which according to family history were removed soon after birth to enable him to suckle , the adult teeth grew in when he was about ten years old ,guess it was what they did in the early 20s ...next generation ...Me , I only found this out a couple of years ago when I changed dentists, no one had ever mentioned it before, and was told I had 33 teeth (an extra tooth in the center bottom jaw) , evidently most folks only have 32 , ( something I never knew , just thought movie stars had more teeth ) ok ...onto the next generation ...my Son .... normal until his top two center baby teeth fell out , and nothing came after and he has had a " mini-plate" since he was 11 yrs old , only seems to happen in the male line ..............now I'm waiting to see what will happen to my Grandsons

anyone else came across anything like this , and just curious how often it happens .

When I was young I had two teeth one tooth at each side of centre, which grew in front of existing teeth, when I was about 11 the dentist took the rear teeth out allowing the two front teeth the then grow naturally, which they did and still have them today, just

But how much work have you had done seen being 18?
I am 39 and have one pin head sized filling in a back tooth, which I think is good for all the junk I eat.

Re: Teeth , genetic defects , family history

I had a couple of wisdom teeth out that were catching each other as well but I am doing pretty well filling wise, for now at least

If I could get rid of this nasty infected ulcer on the back of my throat/tonsils I would be an orally happy chap.
