You forgot the little prayer sheet that will go in them asking for forgiveness. Does this also mean that the missionaries of the church will be handing them out as freebies?

You get nothing free from any church save a piece of bread and a sip of wine, and even that's a cheap red

I read your quote on Pope Benedict's thoughts on condoms yesterday , Jaysay .

I have taken some phrases from the quote and would be pleased if you would clarify and expand on what you mean by :-

1. A practising Roman Catholic .
2. The Church .
3. A move to the 21st century .

2 The Catholic Church
3 Th Catholic Church do not move with the times the last major change was changing the mass from Latin to the language of the country.

Oooh Goody a test, what happens if he gets it wrong?

Excommunication, the rack, well, I wouldn't expect the Spanish Inquisition a bit too severe...

I thought that was what the phrase "in the world, but not of the world" was meant to explain.

I was always under the impression that the Mass was unchanging; same Victim, same Sacrifice, offered eternally. Or have I gotten hold of the wrong end of the stick here?

Who gives a toss? (not a pun)..maybe unfortunate african tribes or long gone Aztecs that were beaten into going along with the ideas of the Catholic Church will get thier own ideas.. instead of getting thier instructions from some hyped up cretin in Rome.
