Re: the accrington acorn
I have a funny little story about the Accrington Acorn sign in town
Was sat on a bench with my little lad while he was eating his dinner, he said, look at that egg on there mum (the acorn sign)
I said thats not and egg, look at the leaves, it's an acorn in a tree
I told him, besides, ya don't get eggs in trees!
He said, Yes you do mum! In birds nests!!!! ( Ps, he was 3 )
Aren't they ace!

Re: the accrington acorn
We had ours delivered this morning Issue 1 of the Accrington Acorn.
Eight paged A4 sized Free publication. Lots of local business adverts as tosh says and not really a great deal more.
They are “ A new Free newspaper with a emphasis on the lighter side of life” their aim is “to support and promote local business”
On page 2 they give us a little description of Accy (glad they pointed out I was in Lancashire) in bold type they talk of “acorn-ring-town” (sure I’ve seen it on Accyweb that one. At the bottom of the blurb they say they have sourced various internet sites for their info.

Re: the accrington acorn
Lol, I just Googled for more information on this 'news'paper, and was directed to this thread.
Is it on recycled paper?
It would be quite ironic if Oak trees were being chopped down to produce it.
