The Coalition's First Nine Months

So what do you think of the Coalition's first eight/nine months?

My view is that , for a party that didn't win the election, the Conservatives are pushing through too right-wing an agenda, expecting the Liberal Democrats to go along with them. That is a recipe for disaster, and the current discontent on the Liberals side will only get worse. The novelty of being in power is wearing off, and they will rebel against the unpopularity of the policies they are having to support.

Cameron and Clegg are already starting to give the impression of covering the cracks with spin.

The effect of the cuts in spending will start to hit home in February/March as budgets for 2011/12 are revealed and redundancies made.

Another election in 2011 is looking probable rather than possible..

Well, I think compared with the earlier 13 years this past 9 months has been an absolute paradise.

Excuse me Doctor I think my tablets are losing their effect if you could return me to a similar comatose d state to the one Jaysay lives in, my world will once more become perfect.

I was daft enough to say that I will give it until Christmas .

The Labour opposition are making no impact .

Ed Miiliband is coming across as a bad choice .

The internal mutterings of Coalition members is a tiny tiff when compared to the Blairite/Brownite rift .

I think we are in a similar situation as the Tory government elected in 1979 was in at this stage .

Prepare for 17 and a half more years .

Can't see that myself JCB, its a different kettle of fish with any coalition, in 79 the Tories stood alone and Labour were unelectable and remained so even under Kinnock, its only when New Labour were born and change to Centre politics that they stood any chance, plus the Tories had shot themselves in the foot so many times 1997 was a foregone conclusion as was the mess that was predicted Labour would make

Education fees and the speed of the cuts for starters. Neither were part of the Liberal Democrat manifesto.

I have voted Labour all my life but at the last election I had a bit of a dilemma. In my constituency the sitting Tory MP was almost sure to be elected. The only chance of keeping him out was to vote for the LibDem. Labour has no chance round here.So like a mug I voted LibDem and the Tory still got in.Yet the LibDem and Labour vote added together would have kept the Tory out. Is this Democracy. If so no wonder people are so disillusioned
