The Great Wall of Ossy.

'WIND farm bosses have erected a three-mile fence blocking access to moorland.'

Anger at three-mile fence on Oswaldtwistle Moor (From Lancashire Telegraph)

Not only have we to see these ugly blots on the landscape, now we can't get anywhere near them.

Outrageous.

I can't remember seeing any plans being passed, for a three mile long fence up on thee moors.

The council came down like a ton of bricks when some gypsies put caravans up there, on land they owned, but didn't have planning permission for.

Surely plans would be needed for this construction, in a location that's supposedly legally classified as an area of outstanding natural beauty?

Re: The Great Wall of Ossy.

It's a German outfit that is responsible for the these windmills, so what can you expect? Constructing a camp surrounded by barbed wire is the way they do things - it's part of their DNA.

Of course, we're all paying for this nonsense through the green levy on our fuel bills. It's why an increasing number of people are falling into fuel poverty while major corporations (usually european) make a substancial return on their investments. It is of course, a scheme basically designed by the last Labour government although I'm sure I've recently read something about the payment of large amounts of money to big companies by the lesser well off by Graham Jones. I can't remember where, though.

I'm sure in the spirit of Kinder Scout, the more militant walkers are already planning to do that, and reclaim public access.

i drive quite often along hasligden old road but uaully at speed so havnt noticed this fencing etc if this is where it is.Is it not there for safety reasons or to protect the metal from theft?

like i said i havnt seen it but i would assume most construction projects put up fencing these days around sites

Now you don't.

Missing, twelve 400 foot wind turbines, last seen on the back of a flat-back lorry, heading towards the scrap yard.

Re: The Great Wall of Ossy.

Just seen there's a Facebook group.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Wind-...r/270940157911

With some eco-crusty posting their thanks that the wind farm was approved, and overcoming the 'NIMBYism'

Well it's certainly not in his yard.

Seeing as he's a full time acticivist, who advertises his services to developers, for a fee, and his own backyard's in soddin' Huddersfield.

A green, Yorkshire whore.

Very ethical.

Oh dear, my comments have just been removed from their page.

More fine ethical transparency.
