Re: THE ills/blindness of Black America!
That's an excellent point Spuggie (and it may sound racist but is not nor is it meant to be) about "White folks realize that power corrupts!" The Black community is very forgiving and very trusting. The Black church I attend has shown this time and time again.
They have so many of their young people in prison. Either because of drugs, stealing, driving offenses, etc. When they get out, all is totally forgiven and forgotten. I've seen sometimes within weeks, these guys are right back doing drugs, selling drugs, stealing, then right back to prison.
If some of these Moms, Grandmoms, or some fathers would hold these troubled people accountable and disciplined, they would be more apt to straighten out their lives.
Same goes for the Black Leadership, once they accept someone or something as good, it is VERY hard to change their minds. (Kinda odd as they love Abe Lincoln but somewhere along the road got turned away from his Republican party). I mean, Jesse Jackson walked with Dr. Martin Luther King (who I do have a great deal of respect for but he did have his own misgivings).
It'd be like trying to convince an older strict Catholic that maybe the Pope is not God incarnate. Okay, I believe I'm rambling now . . . . Sorry!
Brian
