Twenty eight years ago though!

You now you are getting old, when over quarter of a century ago is easier to remember than what you did yesterday.

Brand me as a sacrilegious heretic if you must, but I never liked Elvis........all my peers were mad on him and I didn't like him at all. My opinion hasn't changed over the years either.
I can't abide to watch his films.

Re: The King died.

I was at home looking after my 3 kids, then aged 13, 12 and 2. I can remember being shocked and sad because I had first hear Elvis when I was 13 (and he was 21) and had been a fan ever since. I was never so keen on his white jump-suit days but in the early days, and when he made the "comeback tour" film - dressed all in black leather, well all I can say is CO-O-OR!

I'll let you into a secret. I have a large calendar on my wall at the office (yes, it's a 2005 one) and it's all pictures of Elvis circa 1956. A present from my son and daughter-in-law last Christmas.

I went to a very early Beatles gig at Blackpool......screamed my head off, fell madly in love with Paul, and got my Dad's camera confiscated. It took me ages to work for the money to compensate my dad for the loss of his camera. I also liked Bob Dylan, but I never saw him in concert.

I was only 7 and dont remember feeling very much at the time, I still like his music and think he was quite sexy in his early days, watched a documentary about his life not long ago and thought it was quite sad, it made me cry anyway.

Re: The King died.

I was about 14 when he died. My then best friend and I would sing along to his songs and dream of seeing him in USA when we were older. The night he died I cried myself to sleep My friend called the day after and I expected her to be as upset as I was, but no she just said oh I know but I dont care now as i like some other pop star! I couldn't believe it and I remember we fell out over it.
