Re: The Property Ladder
an interesting slant on the property ladder was provided by panorama this week,i have always been an homeowner, but am seriously re-thinking, old folk(homeowners) who need to go into care homes, had to pay £420 per week in the example given, then if they couldn,t pay ie ran out of money, they had to sell their homes to pay for the care, most old folk i know intend to leave their homes to the kids etc, in this scenario there will be next to sod all left if they don,t pop their clogs pronto! this has already happened to a good friend of ours in blackpool, so its not speculation, she was left with about 25% of what the property was sold for. whereas those who rent properties and have little savings the care is paid ( in the same home) £360 per week by the council, what the hells going on here? best in bricks @ mortor? i dont think so any more!
