The royal wedding

O.k. In another thread I mentioned I don't want anything to do with it, on television or down at the Market hall.
So, is there a pub or are there pubs that can guarantee a twee free zone on that day?

A few of us managed it when Prince Charles got married, the first time. Started in the Railway 11 in the morning and ended up in the Stanhill at closing time.Never saw a minute of the wedding.

We may well have called in there. If you remember the pubs wearn't open all day then. But they were open all day that day because of the wedding. There was about 10 of us started on the pub crawl. One or two probably wouldn't want reminding of it now.

Its surprising how many did that Bernard, loads called in for one, but I didn't want to waste valuable time and stopped in one place

I'm one of the lucky ones getting the day off on the strength of the whole shenanigans and I won't be watching a second of it! I'll even resort to board games before I watch that tripe.

I know its been shut for a while, but haven't been in that neck of the woods for years, its a pity really because it was a great little boozer, a bit Rovers Return a true local, and the rivalry with the "Brig" was great too, those were a very happy part of my life
