Rumours are perfectly harmless (unless there about you!) - I've never started one but consider it my duty to "pass on" the information to others!

Ok, I know he originally said it was a man, not a ladyboy, but that's the beauty/danger of gossip, details like the truth get lost in the telling.

the best rumour was the 2000 computer bug that was going to put every bank,and business out of joint..... that was a real damp squib

If we had lost money from or accounts through it we would not have got it back. If we had gaind the bank would have been all over us. Working in the computer industry gave me some laughs over it but it wont be the last bug to threaten.

I took a carrier bag out with me that night, thinking I'd be walking back home from the club I'd been to in Clapham, stuffing it full of all the money that was going to shoot out of the cash machines along the way.
