The story of Mrs McCave...

...who had 23 sons and she named them all Dave.

I only bring this up because we've just taken on a new technician at work and his name is Dave. Not a problem you would say, but out of a team with three blokes we already have two Daves and we now have four blokes with three Daves. It's not too bad for one chap because he's more of a David than a Dave but the other two are just going to have to be Dave1 and Dave 2.

Anyone better that?

Re: The story of Mrs McCave...

We have a similar problem in our village, Gayle. We have nicknames for most of our 'Daves'. One comes from Wrexham and gets called that all the time, nice bloke. Another one is called Welsh Dave whilst, yet another, is Anne's Dave. The remaining two are David and Dave the builder!
Sorted!!

Re: The story of Mrs McCave...

Some years ago in the office I worked there were two girls who had the same name and the manaer *insisted* that the second girl respond to a name that he allocated. Thankfully, in the offices that I work now, that would not happen.

Re: The story of Mrs McCave...

When I first started at Hollins school there were 5 Debra/Deborahs in my class! Once they sorted us in form groups we were down to 2 in my class which made it a bit easier.

Went to a friend's for dinner and out of 8 of us there were four Davids. Must be more popular than I thought!

We have more than our fair share of Stevens and Stephens makes finding the email a pain when orginization wide you have a lot of them with the surname Smith Johnston and for some odd reason Peterson.
