Its over 2 weeks since you posted the above Mog and I've notice our friend from the North has confirmed his total ignorance by refraining to comment on what you've said, seems he couldn't even find an answer in the Guardian

Re: The Tories
I trust we are all aware of the tory "model" for the economy: Let business and industry run it efficiently for profit, growth, and job creation; keep government out of it. By "business" and "industry" we are meant to understand the leaders of business, the CEOs and top brass. But it seems the US experience with top businessmen (the ones who have avoided jail ) is far from happy. And I have no doubt that the UK experience is similar. They can't seem to be trusted to wipe their own assholes without breaking the law or just plain screwing up. We have to assume by the bye that business leaders are just natural tories or Republicans.
40% of top-paid CEOs busted, bailed out or booted, study says - Business - CBC News
Ok. So, it's only 40%. But how many of the rest just haven't been caught yet, or are just plain mediocre ... as in too dumb and inefficient to come up with a cute illegal plan for maximising their own personal wealth. And when the bailouts arrive, we all know out of whose pockets the money comes. The poor bloody taxpayer that's who. I reas lots of stuff on here about govt. inefficiency, but the alternative seems worse.

Re: The Tories
the problem is Eric, the current lot are not real Tories.
The government are so involved in peoples lives and propping up industries, the true conservative ideology of allowing business to take care of itself is not what we have in 2013.
They supported bailing out the banks, effectively re-nationalising them.
And yet they oppose re-nationalising the utilities or railways.

Another problem is, that in todays economies there are businesses and industries which fall into the category: "Too big to fail." General Motors comes to mind. Unfortunately for them, there are smaller business which, as a group, give more to the overall economy, and employ more people. These fall into another category: "Too small to bail." Business can't take care of itself, particularly big business, as it is run by crooks and idiots.
Until business realizes, that in a consumer economy, it has a vested interest in a well-paid, well-educated, and contented workforce, the western economies are going to stumble from crisis to crisis. And the developing economies? Look at China, if you can see it through the toxic soup they call air.

Re: The Tories
Some people on here like to have a pop at cmonstanley and even go as far as suggesting he's a slice of bread short of a butty. It looks as if he could have the last laugh.
Tory defectors 'could boost Labour' (From Lancashire Telegraph)
Tory voters deserting the party for the UK Independence Party could put Ed Miliband in Downing Street, according to polling by former Conservative Party deputy chairman Lord Ashcroft.

If he does get the last laugh..as you suggest he might, I will await his comments on the performance of his beloved Labour party.
I think it might go very quiet on that score...and anyway if Scotland goes it alone it really won't matter to him anymore...will it?

Re: The Tories
spot on Neil.
But it isn't necessarily the human rights that are the problem, but in the way they are slavishly interpreted...other countries can deport unwanted criminals, rapists and other criminals...it is the 'bleeding heart' liberal apologists in our midst.

That's exactly what I did Neil then decided to join the Party, UKIP are the only party promising to get us out of this shambles, where unelected faceless wonders make all the rules.
