Perhaps the Mayoress can signal the start of proceedings by dropping a silk scarf...after first running it up and down the legs and/or jaws of the candidates.

Well, we've got the 'Meet the Leaders' equivalent of last night's chancellor debate in around a week so we'll see.

I bet Cameron's hands are as beautifully smooth as his baby face, never having had to soil them with any hard graft'
I bet his paid help's are more normal though, reddened and calloused, from all that carrying and fetching.

Oh come of it there is hardly a politician that's done a proper days work in their lives Blair and Brown fall four square into that bracket

It's highly probable that they squeeze their own toothpaste out though.
Still, at least butlering helps to fill a small gap in the job markets, now we are no longer a predominantly manufacturing nation.

And most politicians form their own clique with people of similar backgrounds, (it stops them from having to use their conscience).
Who did you say your best mate is?
Ah, well, now we know why.

There's definitely a common theme running through those choice of friends.
Personally my friends come from a wide spectrum of people, and all have many differing views.
I guess I'm just lucky, as I find it keeps the friendships fresh.

You've seen my avatar. This pet has a very nasty bite when roused -but sticks and stones, etc. . .
I'd appreciate it if we could cut the snide comments and get back to proper debate in a grown up manner, instead of sniping at each other all the time.

Just depends what you consider friendship Garinda, I have only three real friends Two I've known all my life that's Ken and Tom, the latter I grew up with and see him virtually every week, Ken I knew from church and I was responsible for his involvement in politics, Brian has been a friend for over twenty years mainly through working together on projects for young people, after that I have a tremendous number of acquaintances, from all walks of life and with various interests, and that includes people I've met on web sites too

You don't have to defend your choices.
From what I know of them all, each are good men.
I was just pointing out the fact that my friends are drawn from many different walks of life, and all have vastly differing views.
Some find comfort in 'like chooses like', while others don't, and prefer friendships to be more challenging.

I'm sure that might cease just as soon as people aren't wrongly labelled as 'idolising' someone they don't, and moaning about things, that are then proved to be incorrect, e.g. 'never received one penny in benefits'.
