Talking Today Matthew Im Going To Be ... ?

A plumber

Damn toilet handle snapped off in my hand (was always told im a little heavy handed )

Anyway, i rang the council to report it only to be told that its not covered in their repairs !!! and that i have to buy and fit another (cheap plastic crappy handle )

So im going to have a go at fixing it....wish me luck, i might never be seen again.

Re: Today Matthew Im Going To Be ... ?

Soon after I moved in this flat 5 years ago I noticed that the plastic bath panel was cracked. I had already advised them of other things that were in need of repair and had missed that fault. When I looked at the tenancy agreement I found that bath panels werent on their list of 'unchargeable repairs' so I have put up with it (disguised by Polyfilla and a towel) I am to get a new bathroom suite next year so glad I havent gone to the expense of replacing it. If you are due such a refurb, a cheapo handle might last out till then.

OK, fixed the best i can, its still a bit wobbly is the handle when you flush no matter how tight i try and secure it with the nut and washer. My tank is one of those plastic ones and they bend and distort.
Crap plastic watertanks.

If the tank is the cause of the problem it WILL be their job to replace it - talk to them nicely - you might get a complete new bathroom

As I last resort I would leave the tank lid off and operate the ball cock mechanism by hand in the tank - you will just need another surface to put the spare toilet roll on
