A lot of the fans were not happy including some season ticket holders I know. The stewards seemed to have been powerless as well. Thing is there is a minority that think this kind of behavior is acceptable and will carry on doing these outrageous things. The club IMHO dosnt have a clue what to do about this element in the support nor any idea on how to prevent it. The statement is bum fluff as for decades it was only interested in players of the right religion though that is slowly changing. The idiots have gone too far this time and stained Scotland as well as the clubs reputation.

On top of that they're also belittling the bravery, courage & steadfastness of many fine Scottish & Irish fighting men & regiments who've served with pride. loyalty & distinction in the past & in the present day regardless of their own personal religious views.
Scotland suffered one of the highest proportionate losses of any Allied nation in the First World War ... Niall Ferguson discusses this in his "The Pity of War".
I recently went on a 3 day trip to Belgium and France , visiting where my two great uncles are buried.
The most memorable part of the trip was at the Menin Gate in Ypres, where at 8pm every night of the year, 365 days, the traffic is stopped, and the local brass band play the Last Post. It is a ceremony that is stark in its simplicity, but yet one of the most haunting and moving sights I've ever seen in my life. The ceremony remembers the sacrifice made by the thousands of soldiers, English, Scottish, Irish and many other nationalities, who gave their lives so that we can live in freedom.
It strikes me that one of the liberties that they were fighting for was freedom of speech - the very right that those football fans were using in displaying their posters at the Celtic match.
Who was it who said that I disagree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it?
The only crime they are guilty of is crass ignorance.

And the neanderthals wouldn't wouldn't understand that anyway

sorry but i have to disagree spugs their reputation has already been tarnished when they booed a minutes silenced and had to have a minutes applause last year ask any arsenal fan what happened at their friendly last year and the club must have known and let them bring the banners in and last night a well known journalist said it didnt look like a tiny minority either and its not the first time either sorry to disagree but people cant hide the truth any longer
